HERSHEY -- The Hershey Bears (7-4-0-0) went 2-for-2 on the power play and completed a perfect 4-for-4 evening on the penalty kill in a 4-1 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack (6-7-1-0) on Wednesday night at GIANT Center.

NOTABLES:

Josh Dunne opened the scoring with his fifth of the season at 5:35 of the first period, and later assisted on Louie Belpedio's power-play goal at 3:22 of the second. Defenseman Justin Holl assisted on both strikes, giving Holl his first multi-point game as a Bear and the 13th of his AHL career.

Alex Suzdalev put Hershey ahead 3-0 with a power-play goal at 13:25 of the second period for his first of the season, with Bogdan Trineyev and Belpedio assisting.

Hershey limited Hartford to just three shots on goal in the opening frame, establishing a new season best for fewest shots allowed in an individual period by the Bears for the second consecutive game, after only yielding four shots in the third period to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday. The club also allowed a season-low 15 shots overall.

Bears defenseman Dylan McIlrath made his season debut for the Bears after last skating with Hershey on June 24, 2024 vs. Coachella Valley in Game 6 of the Calder Cup Finals.

Hartford started netminder Joonas Korpisalo, who had been loaned earlier in the day by the New York Rangers on a conditioning assignment.

Mitch Gibson started in goal for the Bears for back-to-back games, and turned in a 14-save performance, including a breakaway save on Nathan Aspinall late in the second period to preserve a 3-0 lead, only seeing his shutout bid spoiled by Liam Greentree at 17:22 of the third period.
