FIELD HOCKEY

Polar Bears best Huskies, 2-0

The Mifflin County field hockey team lost to Northern York, 2-0, on Tuesday night.

In a rematch from a 3-0 Polar Bears victory at Northern York a few weeks ago, the two squads battled in an even game. Northern got the opening goal in the first quarter on an odd bouncing ball that trickled into the Huskies goal cage. The game was mostly played in the midfield as the two teams struggled to break into their offensive zone. Northern added a second goal in the third before Mifflin County pushed forward and despite the offensive pressure couldn’t find the back of the cage.

Senior captain Aubree Dobson had her Mid-Penn leading 14th defensive save and senior Mya Felmlee added six saves.

The Huskies finish fifth in the conference with a 2-8 record. They return home to play the Seals at Marcal Paper Field Thursday, a rematch of an epic 1-0 loss in Selinsgrove a year ago.

Starting at /week.
