Cubbison finishes second at Paul Short

BETHLEHEM -- Since Kylee Cubbison returned to Mifflin County after her college career at Bowling Green State University concluded and she, the standout runner has hit the ground running.

Fresh off a first-place win at the Goose Day 5K, Cubbison finished second in the open women's 6K on Friday at the Paul Short Invitational Cross County Race at Lehigh University in Bethlehem. Cubbison was running for the Juniata Valley Striders.

With a time of 21:15, Cubbison finished just seven seconds behind the winner, University of Pennsylvania freshman Emily Reid. More than 400 collegiate, club and unattached runners competed in the race.

Cubbison also has added another prestigious race to her fall calendar as she was accepted to compete in the professional division of the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 15, where she will make her debut at the 26.2 mile distance.
