BELLEVILLE -- The Belleville Christian School Thunder boys soccer team picked up a decisive 8-1 victory over Columbia County Christian in Allegheny Christian Athletic Association action on Friday.

Lions battle Meadowbrook to tie

MCALISTERVILLE -- In a battle of the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association, second- and fourth-place teams, the Juniata Christian School Lions tied visiting Meadowbrook Christian in a scoreless game. The two teams are just three points apart, with Meadowbrook also tied with Northumberland Christian.

Fourth-place Juniata Christian (8-4-2, 5-4-1) was outshot by Meadowbrook (6-3-1 ACAA) 13-2, but the Lions led 3-2 in corners. Juniata Christian goalie Emma Martin had 12 stops.

Thunder quieted by Columbia

BELLEVILLE -- The Belleville Christian School Thunder fell to 1-10-1 and 0-9-1 in the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association after falling to visiting Columbia County Christian on Friday.

Huskies win nailbiter over Red Land

LEWISTOWN -- In a battle of second-place teams in the Mid Penn Conference Keystone Division, the Mifflin County Huskies outlasted visiting Red Land in a five-set thriller on Thursday. The scores were 25-22, 15-25, 24-26, 25-23 and 15-9.

Defensively, Rylie Kahley led the Huskies with a team-high 24 digs. Lily Curry added 19 digs, while Grayce Napikoski had 12, Jayda Thomas added 10 and Addyson Marks 9. Leah Hartzler was a presence at the net with 10 blocks, while Ella Hartzler added 6. Offensively, Curry dished out 34 assists, while Napikoski and Kate Hartzler tallied 20 and 16 kills. Napikoski and Thomas each had 5 aces.

Mifflin County travels to Palmyra on Tuesday.

Mustangs swept by Danville

MIDDLEBURG -- The Midd-West Mustangs rallied to grab a 2-1 lead on Danville only to drop the last two sets in a 3-2 Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference loss on Thursday. The scores were 25-19, 25-27, 21-25, 25-19 and 15-13.

Midd-West heads to East Juniata today.

Juniata jams Jersey Shore

JERSEY SHORE -- The Juniata Indians ended their week with a 3-0 non-league victory at Jersey Shore on Thursday night. The scores were 25-15, 25-16 and 25-22.

Maddie Copeland led the Indians with 7 aces and 18 assists, while Gabby Reed had 5 kills and Astrid Osorio Isaguire added 9 service points. Additionally, Jael Supplee had 3 kills, 3 digs and 2 blocks, while Willow Aurand had 11 digs and 6 aces and Destiny Yohn finished with 3 kills, 4 digs and 4 aces.

The Indians' JVs won 2-1.

Juniata hosts Fannett-Metal on Monday.

Tiger booters fall to Susquenita

COVE -- Host Susquenita handed the East Juniata Tigers a 2-0 setback in Tri-Valley League action on Thursday. The Blackhawks (8-6, 5-4 Tri-Valley League)scored a pair of second-half goals to post the victory. Both teams had five shots on goal and East Juniata (9-5, 5-3) trailed 4-2 in corners. McKenzie Hurt made six saves.

The Tigers travel to Camp Hill today.

BOYS SOCCER

Huskies doubled up by Red Land

LEWISTOWN -- Leading 3-2 in the second half, Mifflin County watched visiting Red Land tally four unanswered goals and come away with a 6-3 Mid Penn Conference victory on Thursday night.

Jack Suydam found Kolt Dixon for one of the Huskies' goals then Suydam put the ball in the back of the goal to even the score at 2-2. Brayden Benfer then fed the ball to Jace Bagrosky to give Mifflin County a 3-2 advantage.

Red Land outshot Mifflin County 20-10 but trailed 3-1 in corners. The Huskies' JVs lost 1-0.
