DILLSBURG — Northern York topped Mifflin County on Thursday, 1-0, during boys soccer action.
“It was a physical match tonight that our boys gutted out but lost 1-0. We didn't challenge a ball that bounced outside our box and they made us pay for it for their goal early in the first half. We had some unfortunate injuries that happened tonight that added to our list already,” Mifflin County assistant coach Todd R. Peters said.
“All our guys never gave up, never quit and kept fighting. In the second half we trusted our play more, which did create some things, but couldn't get through the final line to equalize. We had guys we couldn't get subs for at times and they gutted it out. We are proud of our boys for the effort and know they will keep on working as some guys get healthier and join us. ”
Northern outshot MC, 9-1. Each team had four corners.
Goalie Jack Suydam posted nine saves.
