FIELD HOCKEY
Bears blank Huskies, 3-0
Mifflin County field hockey dropped a conference battle at Northern York, 3-0, on Monday evening in a chippy battle.
Despite relatively even statistics, the Polar Bears broke through in the second quarter for two goals, and added a third a quarter later. The opening goal of the game was scored by the Huskies but was controversially called back. Similar frustrations existed around the Polar Bears’ second goal, coming off a tough stroke call. There were five cards awarded, including a five and 10 minute yellow to Northern York.
The Huskies were led by defending Mid-Penn Player of the Week, goalie Mya Felmlee, who had 13 saves. Mifflin County was playing short three starters out with injury/illness as junior Sophie Heider, senior Irelynn Milligan and freshman Quinnie Williams moved into the starting lineup.
In the JV game, the Huskies tied 1-1 behind a goal of Maeci Gipe, assisted by Quinnie Williams. Goalie Carson Moore-Aldrich added 10 saves.
Mifflin County returns home this Saturday at 11 a.m. for a non-conference game versus Susquehanna Township (varsity only).

Unfortunately for the Huskies, no one has advanced to the district championships. The cut line was 78 (one of the lowest ever). Evan Breon lead MC with an 81, while Caleb Bubb and Jude Zook each shot a 93. Chase Krepps shot 102 and Jaxon Parkes had a 111.
