LEWISTOWN — Cumberland Valley blanked Mifflin County during girls tennis action on Thursday, 5-0.
In singles play, the Eagles earned a forfeit win and Laasya Nachanally beat Delaynie Newlen, 8-2. Meghana Nelluri topped Marcella McKee, 8-0.
In doubles play, Kritika Agrawal and Maya Satheesh defeated Huskies Hana Patel and Alexis Allen. Sharanya Dulta and Ella Ruggiero beat Khloe Knepp and Layla Breneman, 8-1.
GIRLS SOCCER
Mustangs fly by Indians, 7-1
MIFFLINTOWN — West Perry defeated Juniata in girls soccer on Thursday, 7-1.
For the Lady Indians, Carolyn Heidenreich scored a goal, unassisted. Goalkeeper Yaa Serwaa posted seven saves.
Perry scored four times in the first half.
Jalinn Kell blasted three goals. Alyssa Morett, Maelle Lis and Bria Bell each scored a goal.
Juniata heads to EJ on Sept. 10.

Midd-West shuts down Crestwood, 7-0
Midd-West boys soccer beat Crestwood on Thursday, 7-0.
Midd-West had 36 shots on goal and five corners.
Evan Devine scored three times and Abe Sellers added two.

Lions claw South, 10-1
Juniata Christian beat South Williamsport on Thursday for a 10-1 boys soccer win.
JCS outshot South, 29-7, and they had more corners than South, 6-5.
In the saves department, Connor Leitzel had three JCS saves and South tallied 10.
Julian Flores de Valgez scored five goals in the win.
JCS’s overall record is 4-0. Next, JCS plays at home on Sept. 10.

FIELD HOCKEY
Cougars topple Huskies, 9-0
PALMYRA — Mifflin County field hockey traveled to Palmyra to take on the defending state champs and nationally ranked Cougars Thursday evening. But, the Cougars earned a 9-0 win.
Palmyra scored three goals in the first quarter, before the game evened out in the second quarter. With twice the roster of the Huskies, Palmyra owned the second half.
The Huskies were lead by five saves from Aubree Dobson. Mya Felmlee added 15 saves in the cage. Jayda Kanagy added four shots on goal, along with drawing the games only green card on Palmyra.
The Cougars also won the JV game 9-0 over an injury depleted Huskies squad. Goalie Carson Moore-Aldich had 17 saves in the defeat and Quinnie Williams led the way with two shots on goal.
The Huskies head to Camp Hill on Saturday to participate in the Lion’s Den Showdown, starting with another powerhouse in Wyomissing at 11:15 a.m. Mifflin County is looking to avenge their runner-up finish in the tournaments from a year ago, losing to hosts Camp Hill 0-0 in a thrilling and controversial shootout.
Palmyra moves to 2-0 (1-0) on the year and Mifflin County falls to 0-2 (0-1).
