Roundups: Blue Raiders send Indians to 0-3 start

MIDDLETOWN — Juniata dropped to 0-3 on the football season after falling to Middletown on Friday night, 55-7.
Raider Gavin Paul corralled a four-yard rushing score and a 54-yard rushing score. He also had a one-yard TD on the ground.
Harrison Ortiz hit Genesisia Ross for a 24-yard passing score.
Ortiz also found Javon Mosley for a 37-yard passing TD.
Captain Colton Hutchinson delivered the Indians’ first TD of the 2026 season with a one-yard rushing score with 7:53 on the second-period clock.
Julian Payne posted a one-yard rushing touchdown for Middletown (2-1).
Middletown had a fumble return touchdown to wrap up their scoring spree.
Next, Juniata hosts Susquenita (1-2) in Week 4.
The Raiders visit Milton Hershey at 1:30 p.m. next Saturday.

Green Dragons topple Indians, 3-0
MIFFLINTOWN — Lewisburg rolled by Juniata volleyball on Thursday, 25-16, 25-8, 25-21.
For Juniata, Sophia Hostetler had six digs and Maddie Copeland added four.
Copeland tacked on six assists and five points.
Willow Aurand added five points.
Millionaires sweep EJ
Williamsport beat East Juniata in volleyball action on Thursday night, 25-16, 25-9, 25-12.
For the Tigers, Kaelyn Walter had two points. Brooklyn Devinney had seven digs, Madyson Freed added two digs. Hayley Cramer added two digs and three points.
Mazie Neimond posted two digs and two assists with eight points.
Rams edge Huskies, 3-2
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County volleyball hosted the Rams from Penns Valley and fell just short, 3-2.
Varsity Huskies dropped the first two sets 9-25 and 12-25 before coming from behind to win the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-20. They would ultimately fall just short in the fifth set, losing 12-15. Offensively the Huskies were led by Lily Curry with 29 assists.
Kate Hartzler had a team high 17 kills while Grayce Napikoski added 13. Leah Hartzler had a strong performance at the net, leading the team with 14 blocks. Rylie Kahley led the defense with 23 digs while Grayce Napikoski and Lily Curry added 18 and 13 digs respectively. Addyson Marks, Jayada Thomas and Grayce Napikoski each chipped in two aces.
JV Huskies lost in three with scores of 20-25, 25-21 and 12-15. Mackenzie Resto and Janessa Collins each had a team-high five kills with Jovi Bush adding four. Briah Moore had a team high two aces and 12 digs while Emma Hartzler and Sarah Hartsock each added six digs.
The Huskies are on the road again next Tuesday to take on Red Land.
GIRLS SOCCER
Polar Bears rout Huskies
Northern York defeated Mifflin County, 8-0, in girls soccer action.
For the Bears, Mackenzie Siler scored at 6:29, Alexa Rank added another at 14:04, Ava Ondecko at 15:09, Mackenzie Siler scored at 29:51 and Brynn Ondecko (Carly Sheffer) at 37:27.
Mackenzie Siler tacked on another score at 39:37, Siler added another at 53:13 and Ava Ondecko at 56:26.
Northern outshot MC, 26-5.
Husky Taryn Hubler had 18 saves and Claire Peperak had five for York.
York won the JV contest, 6-0.
MC is now 0-5-1 and their next game is at Hershey on Monday.
Lions drop Calvary, 7-0
Juniata Christian beat Calvary Christian Acadamey, 7-0, on Thursday.
First-half goals included a JCS goal by Rachel Hoover, assist by Aurora Weller. Evie Duncan added another score, assist by Lydia Sellers and Duncan posted another goal.
Second-half goals came from Aurora Weller (three) and the last goal got an assist from Lydia Sellers. Rachel Hoover scored a goal as well.
JCS had 36 shots and Calvary posted four. In the saves department, Emma Martin had three and CCA had nine.
JCS’s overall record is 2-2 and their next game is Monday at Columbia County.
BOYS SOCCER
Lions fly by Calvary, 9-1
JCS boys soccer defeated Calvary Christian Academy, 9-1.
First-half goals included a JCS goal by Julian Flores de Valgez and Zander Neimond added another.
Neimond scored another, assist by Charlie Donovan and Flores de Valgez scored again, assist by Zander Neimond.
Flores de Valgez scored with an assist by Jordan Lara and Lara posted a goal. Noah Stong also scored, assist by Jordan Lara.
Second-half goals included a CCA goal by Gabriel Schroeder and a JCS goal by Jesse Spade. Flores de Valgez posted another goal.
JCS outshot CCA, 31-5. For JCS, Connor Leitzel had three saves. CCA had nine saves.
JCS had five corners and CCA added three.
JCS’s overall record is 5-0 and their next game is Monday at Columbia County.
