RubberDucks pummel Curve, 16-1

CURVE, Pa. - Altoona dropped their series opener, 16-1, to the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

Easton Carmichael drove in Altoona's only run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning of the loss. Callan Moss picked up his 28th multi-hit game of the season and his 106 hits rank fourth in the Eastern League.

Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz went 0-for-3 with a walk and played eight innings in center field.

Peyton Stumbo suffered the loss after starting his night with four scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Akron rallied for five straight hits to start the fifth inning and take a 5-0 lead. Akron scored six times in the seventh and four runs in the eighth to take control of the game against the Curve bullpen. Akron's Ryan Cesarini hit three home runs in the game and Aaron Walton drove in six for the 'Ducks.

Lonnie White Jr. singled in the eighth inning extending his hit streak to 12 games. During the streak, he's batting .465 (20-for-43) with 2 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR and 8 RBI with a 1.384 OPS.
