Port Royal to host America 250 Celebration, Greg Hodnett Classic

PORT ROYAL – One of the biggest nights of the summer is set for this Saturday, July 4, as Port Royal Speedway hosts PA Speedweek featuring the 8th Annual Greg Hodnett Classic, presented by Ramsey’s Car Wash.

The stars of the Pennsylvania Posse and plenty of the nation’s top sprint car drivers will converge on “The Speed Palace” to battle for a $15,000 payday in the penultimate race of the 2026 running of PA Speedweek. The Penske Racing Shocks Super Late Models will also be in action, making for a can’t-miss Independence Day weekend racing program.

Saturday’s festivities extend well beyond the racing as Port Royal Speedway celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary with a full afternoon and evening of family entertainment.

The celebration begins with the America 250 Celebration at The Speed Palace, a free community event featuring kids’ activities from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Families can enjoy free face painting, balloon animals, bounce houses, and a variety of additional activities throughout the afternoon.

Live music will set the stage for the night’s racing as Bella Donna performs on the Juniata County Fairgrounds Free Stage from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., providing entertainment as fans arrive at the speedway.

The racing program will feature pit gates opening at 4:30 p.m., general admission gates opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 7 p.m., with racing to immediately follow.

Adding to the excitement, fans and the local community alike will be treated to a spectacular fireworks display between the B-Main and the 410 Sprint Car A-Main, creating a fitting celebration of the country’s 250 years of independence just before the night’s biggest race takes to the track.

General admission is $30 for adults, $20 for students ages 13-17, while children 12 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $40.

With top-tier racing, live music, family-friendly activities, patriotic festivities, and a fireworks spectacular all packed into one evening, Saturday’s Greg Hodnett Classic promises to be one of the premier events of the 2026 season at Port Royal Speedway.
