MC Cal Ripken League Has successful tourney

LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County Cal Ripken League had a very successful weekend in the District 13 playoffs as all four teams advanced to the state playoffs.

The 9-year-old-and-under team went 3-0 as they defeated Perry County, 18-14; Juniata County, 16-4; and Perry County, 14-2, to win the title in the championship game. Mifflin County advances to the state tournament in Red Land (Harrisburg) on July 3.

At the 10-year-old level, Mifflin County went 3-1 before winning the title. Mifflin County dropped the first game to Perry County, 12-8, but bounced back to win the title with three straight victories. Mifflin County beat Juniata County, 11-1 and 15-0, before winning the title against Perry County, 12-4. Mifflin County now goes to the state tournament in Upper Allen Township, Harrisburg, on July 3.

The Mifflin County 11-and-under only played two games but won them both. Mifflin County beat Perry County, 7-4 and 8-3 for the championship. The state playoffs will be held in Kimberton (Phoenixville), starting July 3.

It took three games for the 12-and-under to win the title. Mifflin County won the first game against Perry County, 8-1, but dropped the second game against Perry County, 8-3. Mifflin County then won the title with an 18-11 win over Perry County in the championship game. Mifflin County advances to the state playoffs in the Methacton-Audubon area in Philadelphia on July 3.
