Belleville edges McVeytown, 11-9

MCVEYTOWN – Belleville scored two unearned runs in the top of the seventh Monday to edge McVeytown, 11-9, in the only game played in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League.

McVeytown didn’t give up a hit in the seventh, but had three walks, two errors and a wild pitch that scored a run.

Mason Joyce got the win for Belleville in relief. He pitched the last three innings, giving up one run, one hit, walking two and hitting one batter. Reagan Varner started the game for Belleville.

McVeytown had nine hits with four of those going for doubles. Bryson Watton and Dom Attamuro were multiple hitters with two. Trayven Shaffer, Landon Pecht, Jett Powell and Watton each had doubles.

Belleville also had nine hits. Levi Andersoin and Joyce each had two hits for the Big Valley club.

McVeytown led 4-2 after one inning and the game was tied 9-9 after six innings.

Belleville is now 6-3 and McVeytown fell to 3-5.
