Beaver Springs closes out season with 10-0 win

BEAVER SPRINGS–Beaver Springs closed the Mifflin County Babe Ruth regular season with a championship-type game.

On Monday night the league champions shut out second-place Reedsville, 10-0. The game was over after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Beaver Springs finished with an 18-2 record. Second place Reedsville finished four games behind the league champions with a 14-6 record.

This game belonged to the Beaver Springs pitcher, Haven Bridge. Bridge went the entire game, struck out 11, walked one and hit two batters.

Beaver Springs jumped out in front, 1-0 in the first inning. Landon Keister opened with a single and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Bridge.

The Springs pulled ahead in the third with a four run inning. Colton Aumiller smashed a three run double and later scored on a Bridge groundout.

Reedsville didn’t record an out in the fifth as Beaver Springs sent seven men to the plate and five of them scored. There were two hits in the inning as Keister singled and Jayden Rivera ended the game and the season with a two run single. Reedsville helped the Springs cause with a hit batter and three errors.

Beaver Springs finished with five hits. Max Trawitz had a single in the third inning. Keister had two hits.

The only three base runners for Reedsville were Karter Kanagy , who drew a walk in the fifth. Jamieson Parkes also was a base runner in the fifth when he was hit by a pitch. The only other base runner was Bronn Zook, who also was hit by a pitch in the third.

The only bright spot for Reedsville was the pitching of Jaxon Parkes, who went four innings and only allowed three hits.
