Wray helps Burnham to a 14-1 win

BELLTOWN–All through the Babe Ruth career of Burnham’s Noah Wray, he has been known for his pitching. On Thursday, Wray gave his arm a rest as he used his bat to help beat Belltown, 14-1, in a Mifflin County Babe Ruth game. The game ended after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Wray belted two homers and had three hits and three RBIs. Wray had solo shots in the first and third innings. Cohen Leister also had a big night with two hits knocking in six runs. Leister smashed a three-run homer in the first inning and doubled home a run in the second. He walked with the bases loaded in the third.

Noah Wolfkiel, Burnham’s leadoff hitter, had a three-hit game. Liam Shaffer also was a multiple hitter with two including a double. Burnham (2-0) had 15 hits with nine players getting at least one hit.

Chase Benfer was the beneficiary of the great offense. He had a complete game, struck out six, walked one and gave up four hits.

Getting singles for Belltown (0-2) were Lucas Shawver, Colton Cherry, Colton Leister and Ben Link.

BEAVER SPRINGS 17, LEWISTOWN 4

LEWISTOWN — Beaver Springs’ Colton Aumiller smashed three triples in helping Springs to a 17-4 win over Lewistown. The game went seven innings.

Aumiller finished with 10 RBIs as he sparked Springs’ offense. Haven Bridge had two hits including a triple. Max Trawitz and Ridge Zechman each had extra-base hits for the winners. Trawitz had a double and Zechman added a triple.

Beaver Springs (2-0) used three pitchers. Brayden Herbster got the win with three and two-thirds innings of work. He struck out three and gave up two hits. Behind Herbster were Vance Gregg and Travis Henry. The trio combined for a five hitter. Henry struck out five in two innings on the mound.

Jared Sickles had two hits for Lewistown (1-1), while Landon Cunningham, Connor Lucas and Luke Bloom each had one. Cunningham’s hit was a double.

For Beaver Springs it was its 250th win since joining the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League in 2009. The Springs overall record is 250-155.

MILROY 24, STRODES MILLS 0

MILROY — Milroy opened its 2026 season with a 24-0 win over Strodes Mills. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Milory pounded out 16 hits in the lopsided victory. Gabe Clark had a big night with four hits. Kooper Walters had three hits including two doubles and Chase Krepps had a two-run inside-the-park home run. Cohen Ritchey added a double to the Milroy winning effort.

Milroy used three pitchers to gain the win. Justice Ritchey, who went two innings, started the game and got the victory. Mason Baumgardner and Cohen Ritchey finished off the win. Justice Ritchey and Baumgardner each had five strikeouts.

Strodes’ (0-4) three hits, all singles, came from Karson Goss, Zayne Baines and Zaymon Hutchison.
