Huskies drop Rams, 5-2

HARRISBURG — Mifflin County scored all five of their runs in a 5-2 victory in the final three frames against Central Dauphin on Friday afternoon.

The Huskies scored twice in the fifth and sixth frames and once in the seventh.

The Rams had a 2-0 lead entering the fifth stanza.

The Huskies had eight hits with two errors.

The Rams tallied seven hits and three errors.

Madden Weaver posted three RBIs and one hit. Evan Strohecker added one hit with one RBI.

Karl Shirey added three hits for the Huskies and Lincoln Ruble had one RBI.

Indians fly by Tigers

MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata baseball beat East Juniata on Friday, 11-4.

Juniata had five runs in the first inning as EJ posted three runs in the frame.

Then, Juniata (7-10) tacked on two runs in the third stanza, one run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth.

The Tigers had one run in the seventh.

EJ (0-17) tallied 10 hits and four errors.

Juniata had 10 hits with four miscues.

Rams rout Huskies

The Huskies fell to 3-14 after a 15-1 loss to Central Dauphin on Friday.

The Rams scored four times in the second frame and three times in the third. Then, they added five runs in the fourth inning.

The Rams had 14 hits and one error.

The Huskies had three errors and three hits. They scored once in the first frame.

The Huskies visit Cumberland Valley on Monday.

Buffaloes nudge Indians

NEWPORT — Newport softball edged Juniata on Friday, 16-15.

The Indians fell to 3-15 on the year.

Newport and Juniata each scored twice in the first frame.

Juniata had five runs in the second and one run in the third.

Newport responded with five runs in the third, two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth.

The Buffaloes tallied two runs in the sixth and seventh frames.

Juniata posted five runs in the seventh frame.

Juniata had 16 hits with five errors.

Newport tallied 12 hits with four miscues.
