Belleville downs Reedsville, 4-0

MILROY–Belleville’s Mason Joyce and Reagan Varner combined for a five-hit shutout Wednesday as Belleville beat Reedsville, 4-0, in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League.

Joyce went the first six innings as he gave up just four hits. Varner worked the seventh and picked up the save. Joyce struck out four, walked three and gave up four hits.

Varner gave up one walk, one hit and struck out one. He got two ground balls to end the game.

Belleville opened the game with two runs as Joyce had an RBI single and the other run scored on a Reedsville error. The Big Valley club added a run in the third as Carter Sunderland had an RBI double.

In the fourth, Belleville closed out its scoring as Isaiah Sharp had a two-out double and scored on an RBI single from Gage Geissinger.

Joyce was the only multiple hitter for Belleville with two.

Reedsville got five hits, all singles from Caden McClure, Carter Palm, Jaxon Parkes, Jackson Tate and Jude Zook.

One bright spot for Reedsville was that Noah Bunch threw three shutout innings in relief to end the game.

BELLTOWN 19, STRODES MILLS 2

BELLTOWN–Belltown banged out six extra base hits in winning its first game of the year as it downed Strodes Mills, 19-2. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Belltown finished with 14 hits. Leading the way was RJ Link, who had three hits and a triple. Colton Leister, Colton Cherry and Jadon Tate each had two hits. Leister, Cherry, Tate, Ben Link and Kale Beaver each had doubles.

Greysen Peters, a rookie, got the start and the win by pitching into the third inning. Beaver closed out the win in relief.

Strodes got three singles from Karson Goss, Cain Lynch and Torran Garrity.

COACHING CHANGE IN BELLEVILLE

BELLEVILLE–Keith Baker, President of the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League, has announced a coaching change in Belleville.

Longtime manager Bill Corbin is stepping down for the remainder of the 2026 season. He will stay on the coaching staff as an assistant.

Being named the new manager is Chris Hale. Hale took over for Corbin at the start of this week. He has a 1-1 record with a win over Reedsville and a loss to Burnham.

Corbin has been the manager for the Big Valley club since 1983 and has been on the Belleville coaching staff since 1979.

Corbin had a 2-1 record in 2026 and his record in Belleville is 661-407. As a Mifflin County All-Star coach his record is 124-61 and his overall record is 785-468. His win total is the most for any Babe Ruth manager in Pennsylvania.
