Beaver Springs blanks Belleville, 11-0

BELLEVILLE — A strong pitching performance by Beaver Springs helped it beat Belleville, 11-0, on Thursday. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

The win pushed Springs (6-1) into a first-place tie with Lewistown in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League.

Colton Aumiller went the first four innings and got the win. He allowed only two base runners, a walk to Levi Anderson in the second and a base hit by Landon Rhodes in the fourth.

Aumiller struck out seven. Haven Bridge finished with three strikeouts in the fifth.

Beaver Springs had nine hits. Bridge and Dale Davidson each had two. Springs took control of the game right from the start as it scored four runs in the first. Maverick Smith had a two-run double and Landon Keister had a two-run single to score the four runs.

REEDSVILLE 24, STRODES MILLS 2

LEWISTOWN–Reedsville came out of its offensive doldrums as it beat Strodes Mills, 24-2. The game was over after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Reedsville had only scored 12 runs in its last four games, but took advantage of the Strodes Mills pitching woes. The winners pounded out 17 hits.

Caden McClure and Jude Zook each had three hits. Cam Kauffman, Karter Kangy and Jamieson Parkes each had two hits. Reedsville also had four extra-base hits, a triple from Jamieson Parkes and doubles from Kauffman, Carter Palm and Jaxon Parkes.

Palm was the starter and went two innings and got the win. Jackson Tate and Dalton Yoder then closed out the game for Reedsville.

Strodes Mills had two singles, Zayne Baines and Jackson Briar.

The win for Reedsville snapped a two-game losing streak and moved it into fourth place.

BURNHAM 6, MILROY 2

MILROY–Burnham kept pace with the first two teams as it beat Milroy 6-2 and improved its

record to 5-1.

Each team scored two runs in the first inning, but then a trio of Burnham pitchers held Milroy scoreless for the rest of the game.

Chase Benfer got the start for Burnham and he went three innings and got the win.

Noah Wray followed for two innings and then Liam Shaffer closed out the game and got the save.

Benfer struck out two, walked two and gave up Milroy’s only hit. Wray struck out five and walked three and Shaffer struck out three and walked two.

Burnham scored single runs in the third and sixth and two runs in the fourth.

Burnham had 10 hits and four of those came off the bat of Shaffer, who also had a double. Wray also was a multiple hitter with two.

Milroy’s only hit came from Chase Krepps, a single in the first inning.

BELLTOWN 12, MCVEYTOWN 9

MCVEYTOWN–Back on May 21, McVeytown scored three runs in the top of the seventh to beat Reedsville, 7-5.

Belltown turned those tables on McVeytown by scoring seven runs in the top of the seventh to take home a 12-9 win.

McVeytown led 8-5 going into the seventh. Belltown sent 11 men to the plate in the last inning. Belltown had three hits, two walks and McVeytown made three of its 10 errors in the last inning.

Getting hits for Belltown during the rally were Tanner Shawver, Teagan Kauffman and Maddox Smith.

Shawver and Smith each had two hits for Belltown, which finished with six. Kale Beaver had a key hit for Belltown in the sixth when the winners started the comeback with four runs.

Luke Shawver got the win for Belltown as he pitched the last three innings. RJ Link was the starter.

McVeytown had seven hits with Landon Pecht getting two doubles.
