Indians swept in Millerstown

MILLERSTOWN — Juniata track and field competed at Greenwood on Thursday. The Juniata girls lost to Greenwood 96-45. The Juniata boys fell to Greenwood 94-56.

The top scorers for the girls included Willow Aurand with a second-place finish in the 100 hurdles at 19.52 seconds for a personal best.

Carolyn Heidenreich placed first in the 1600 at 6:24.6 and in the 400 Selena Mayall-Marker placed second at 1:14.69.

Top scorers for Juniata included David Mayall-Marker (first place) at 11:58.96 in the 3200 and Joel Hardin (third place) at 12:11.18 in the 3200. In the high jump, Jasper Shepps was first place at 6′ 6″ and Alex Armstrong had third place at 5′ 8″.

“It was a very hot day for a track meet, but the kids did well adapting to the weather conditions. Some of them even had personal best performances,” Indians coach Shari Miller said.
