Lady Indians topple Thunder, 70-24

MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata girls hoops defeated Belleville Christian on Friday night, 70-24.

For the Indians, Mylee Landis posted 26 points and Grace Reinhold tacked on 11.

Maura Campagna had 12 points in the home win and Aubryn Deihl added 10 points. Gabby Reed had six points.

For the Thunder, Alayna Peachey had eight points and Katelyn Renno added five points. Hailey Zook posted five.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Huskies best Falcons, 59-52

HUMMELSTOWN — Mifflin County went on the road and clinched the season sweep of Lower Dauphin, defeating the Falcons 59-52.

It was a back and forth game throughout, with the Huskies using a strong fourth quarter performance to get the win.

Junior Zach Keller was scorching hot, leading the way with a career-high 25 points and he posted seven triples.

Senior Josh Hartzler was also in double figures with 11 points, and junior Lucas Hartung was in double figures for the second straight game with 10 points.

Hartung was also stellar on the defensive side and a rebounding machine, earning himself the “Dawg of the Game”.

Junior Jack Curry set another milestone as well, as he moved into second all-time in scoring in program history.

With the win, the Huskies move to 8-10 on the year, and hit the road once again on Tuesday when they battle Mechanicsburg. JV’s tip is at 4, with the varsity boys following the girls varsity game, with the boys tip set for 7 p.m.

The JV Huskies also got the win 59-49.

Sophomore Dylan Bonson led the way with 20 points, and freshman Luke Warfel had 13.

Juniata tops BCS, 76-57

MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata boys hoops beat Belleville Christian on Friday night, 76-57.

For the Indians, Jasper Shepps tallied 31 points and Ricky Guante added 11. Damien Vance corralled six points and so did Jaden Nealman.

Juniata made four triples in the contest.

For the Thunder, Grant Yoder recorded 22 points and Devin Yoder had nine points.

BCS knocked down eight three-pointers. Bryson Peachey, Landon Rhodes, Grant and Devin Yoder each had two threes.

FRESHMEN BASKETBALL

Huskies stay undefeated

Mifflin County’s ninth grade team beat Cumberland Valley on Friday, 52-25.

Jemma Kanagy had 26 points and Grayce Napikoski had 12.

The Huskies are now 17-0.
