LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County (10-8) returned from a one-week break due to inclement weather to take on Lower Dauphin (9-11) where the Lady Falcons dominated on both ends of the floor to nudge the Huskies on Friday, 43-34.
Mifflin County could find very little momentum early as the Lady Huskies were forced into 13 turnovers. The Lady Falcons were led by Addy Moran who put together a 15 point performance in a game where Moran knocked down three triples to help get past the Huskies.
Huskies coach Crystal Weaver said, "We need to focus on playing together as a team and our turnovers and bad decisions I think came from trying to play an individual game. When we can play together as five I think we can cause some problems. But, tonight we just didn’t get it done. Hats off to Lower Dauphin they wanted it a little better than us tonight, but we just didn’t come ready to play mentally or physically tonight. But, we have to get back into the gym tomorrow and focus on getting better because we have a big week coming up. And we want to finish the season out strong."
Mifflin County’s Jayda Kanagy led the way for the Huskies with 14 points and finished the night going 5-for-6 from the foul line in their loss.
Lower Dauphin was strong in the paint with key inside-the-paint points from Reese Marshall, Sydney More and Lexi Misiolek who also knocked down a three in the game, putting together another double-figure performance.
The Lady Falcons would be too tough to tame as they would cruise to a victory. Mifflin County will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Mechanicsburg. Lower Dauphin will return home for a meeting with Red Land.
Mifflin County JV girls also fell to Lower Dauphin, 22-18.
