LEWISBERRY -- Mifflin County football scored 21 points in the opening half during their Week 10 showdown with Red Land on Friday night and held on for a 21-15 victory.
The Huskies had two passing touchdowns and a rushing score in the first half, plus a 2-point conversion. Brandon Kauffman and Nevin Farley (twice) each posted scores for the victors.
Red Land got a passing score in the fourth quarter plus a successful two-point try to cut the MC lead to 21-15.
The Huskies (6-4, 5-4 MPC) await their district playoff opponent for next week.
The Patriots drop to 7-3 (6-3 MPC) as their two-game win streak is snapped by the Huskies.
The Huskies have won four out of their last five ballgames.

Indians dodge Trojans, 14-7
ELIZABETHVILLE -- Despite Upper Dauphin rushing for 227 yards, Juniata earned a 14-7 gridiron win in Week 10.
Juniata posted their first touchdown in the opening period. UDA answered with a TD in the third stanza.
The Indians countered with a final touchdown in the fourth quarter.
UDA senior Carter Dreibelbis tallied exactly 200 yards on the ground on 23 carries.
Juniata moves to 6-4 and 5-3 in the Mid-Penn Capital. UDA is now 4-6 with a 4-4 conference record.

Rockets spike Indians, 3-0
THREE SPRINGS -- No. 6 Southern Huntingdon eliminated No. 11 Juniata in district playoff volleyball action on Thursday, 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.
Maddie Copeland had 10 assists, Miley Hack posted nine digs and Hannah Graybill collected six service points with four kills.
Juniata ends their season with a 13-10 record.
The Rockets are now 19-2 after beating Juniata in the District 6 Class 2A First Round. Southern will meet No. 3 Central Cambria in the district quarterfinals on Tuesday.
