WESTMINSTER, Md. -- From 1997 to 2004, McDaniel College dominated the Centennial Conference, winning four outright titles and sharing three more.
For much of that run, the Green Terror were known as Western Maryland College, until 2002 when the school was renamed for an alum who gave a lifetime of service to the college.
Juniata College would like to achieve a similar run of success. Despite starting the football season 2-0, the Eagles still have a ways to go as they dropped a 24-7 decision to McDaniel at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium in Westminster, Md.
Trailing 3-0, Juniata grabbed the lead as Ivan Foreman found the end zone from three yards out with 2:45 to play in the second quarter.
The Green Terror answered with a pair of touchdown runs in the third quarter as quarterback Jayden Booker scored from 16 yards out at the 10:28 mark and, five minutes later, Cordae James scored on a two-yard run. That put McDaniel ahead, 16-7.
In the fourth quarter, Booker hooked up with Tony Miller on a nine-yard scoring strike to set the 24-7 final.
Offensively, the Green Terror more than doubled Juniata in total offense, 331-148, as Book threw for 118 yards, one TD and two INTs. Juniata's Ethan Eisenberg went 6 of 19 for 38 yards and 1 INT.
Foreman finished with 72 rushing yards, James rolled up 140 yards.
Midd-West product Carter Sauer had one kickoff for 55 yards on special teams to go with one solo tackle on defense.
Juniata High School standout Mikah Hunt did not play. The same was true for Mount Union's Naiym Francis and Midd-West's Parker Boop.
The Eagles visit the College of New Jersey on Saturday for a 3 p.m. kickoff.

NO. 4 SLIPPERY ROCK 42, SHIPPENSBURG 0
SLIPPERY ROCK - Slippery Rock showed why the Rock is ranked fourth in Division II with a dominating 42-0 decision over Shippensburg.
The Raiders (0-3) tried to hang with them as quarterback Riley Gunnels completed 30 of 50 pass attempts for 295 yards. But Gunnels was sacked five times, and the Raiders also fumbled the ball away three times.
Wide receiver Joziah Gonzalez was his favorite target, with seven catches for 81 yards. Mifflin County product Cyrell Green did not have any statistics.
Defensively, Nate Myers led Shippensburg with 13 tackles, including seven solos and two tackles for loss.
Slippery Rock's DaOne Owens connected on 16 of 27 passes for 252 yards and four TDs. Receiver Reggie Fleurima had three catches for 66 yards, and running back JayJay Jordan rolled up 107 yards on 11 carries.
Slippery Rock outgained the Raiders, 420-366.
Shippensburg returns home to face Bloomsburg on Saturday at 1 p.m.
NO. 8 CALIFORNIA (Pa.) 42, LOCK HAVEN 6
CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The host Vulcans started fast and led 35-0 before Lock Haven found the end zone late in the first half. With 41 seconds left in the second quarter, Connor Fultz hauled in a 21-yard pass from Jackson Ostrowsky for a Bald Eagles' touchdown.
Ostrowsky went 17 for 28 for 149 yards with one TD and two INTs. Mekhi Watson finished with five catches, Jake Roberts hauled in four receptions and Justin Popovich made three catches for 47 yards. Damir Green carried the ball seven times for 54 yards.
Markel Morgan led the defense with a game-high nine tackles and Rocco Daugherty recorded an interception. Rasu Wearing-Poindexter made eight tackles.
Cal quarterback Roman Purcell threw two TD passes and Bobbie Boyd, Jr. ran for two more to pace the Vulcans' offense.
The Bald Eagles (1-2) return home to host East Stroudsburg on Saturday. The PSAC East opener is set for 1 p.m.
