LEWISBERRY -- On Friday night, Red Land girls basketball clipped Mifflin County, 35-33.
For the Huskies (6-11), Jayda Kanagy posted 11 points and Mackenzie Peachey had nine.
For the Pats, Kayla Kirkpatrick had nine points and Karli Dacosta had eight points.
In the JV game, the Patriots beat the Huskies, 40-27. Mya Felmlee had 12 points and Malaina Maxwell collected eight.
The Huskies host Hershey at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Bulldogs drub Mustangs, 72-14
JERSEY SHORE -- Jersey Shore rolled by Midd-West during Friday's girls basketball action, 72-14.
For the Bulldogs (10-3), Payton Dincher dropped 30 points and Cailyn Schall added 12 points. Avery DePasqua posted nine points.
For the Mustangs (1-12), Emma Wagner tallied 10 points and Izzy Walter added four.
Midd-West travels to play Shikellamy on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Huskies stump Patriots, 50-36
LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County boys hoops got their second conference win of the season on Friday by knocking off Red Land, 50-36.
The Huskies came out hot, especially on the defensive side of the ball, holding the Patriots to eight points in the first half. The MC boys handled a second-half flurry by Red Land in the third quarter and clutch free-throw shooting helped the Huskies get the win.
The MC boys were led by sophomore guard Luke Bender with 15 points. Junior guard Evan Strohecker was also in double figures with 10.
The JV Husky boys fell in a tough one, losing 52-45. A slow offensive start proved to be too much for the Huskies to overcome.
Husky sophomore Carson Franklin led the way with 21 points. Fellow sophomore Lucas Hartung was also in double figures with 11 points.
The MC boys now sit at 5-7 on the year and 2-6 in conference. The Huskies return to action on Monday for senior night when they host Bellefonte.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lions freeze Huskies, 54-29
The Mifflin County ninth grade girls basketball team suffered their first setback of the season, falling to a tough Altoona squad, 54-29, on Friday.
Husky Jemma Kanagy was the high scorer with 11 points, and Grayce Napikoski added six.
Mifflin County is now 12-1 and returns to action next Friday for a matchup at Cedar Cliff.

Trojans edge Bulldogs, 39-36
MT. UNION -- Mt. Union wrestling dodged Claysburg-Kimmel on Thursday, 39-36.
At 121, Trojan Kamden Beatty got a tech fall over Trevor Frazier, 15-0, at the 4:06 mark.
At 139, Trojan Jacik Hess got a 13-1 major decision over Brodie Soler.
At 145, Bulldog Trevor Brown pinned Izik Copenhaver at the 3:01 mark.
