LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County's girls lacrosse team hosted Mifflinburg on Wednesday and got the W, 13-5.
The Lady Huskies bounced back from an 18-2 loss on Monday, a game in which they fell to Danville.
"We have a lot of room for improvement. We’ve been improving the first three games we’ve played. The first three games were a lesson in great lacrosse. We focused on picking apart little pieces of the game in each game," Huskies coach Theresa Lamont said.
"We tried today to get the passing scheme going from one end of the field to another by getting some low attackers to come up and we did all of that and were very happy. They did what we wanted them to do even when it didn’t work we tried to do it again."
Husky Mara Gallo was at her best today, finding the net six times to go along with that Gallo had one assist taking 19 total shots.
"I trust in my teammates. They have the opportunity to be confident when they get the ball when shooting and scoring," Gallo said.
Gracelynn Beckenbaugh, Addison Knepp, EmmaLeigh Harmon, and Sumiko Clark found themselves in the scoring column.
The Wildcats could only find their way into the scoring column five times, Avery Byler scored twice and Ainsley Scott doubled. Alaina Yount totaled one goal.
The Huskies finished strong with great defensive efforts and stellar passes from sophomore Loryn Knepp and teammate Brenna Alexander late in the game.
Next, the Huskies (1-3) visit Bellefonte next Thursday at 6 p.m.
