ELLIOTTSBURG -- West Perry remained unbeaten with a 39-21 victory over Juniata on Friday night.
Brad Hockenberry darted to the endzone for a 27-yard rushing touchdown, helping the Mustangs (3-0) earn a 7-0 lead with 9:22 left in the first period.
Quarterback Marcus Quaker would find Bryce Smith for a 16-yard passing touchdown on a slant, making it 13-0 with 3:12 left in the opening quarter. Ian Goodling made both PATs for West Perry, giving the home team a 14-0 lead.
Quaker kept building on the Mustangs early success on offense with a 7-yard quarterback sneak, handing West Perry a 20-0 advantage with 6:32 remaining in the second quarter. The PAT was no good. On that scoring drive, West Perry rumbled for 11 plays and 92 yards against Juniata's defense.
For Juniata, Heath Hutchinson toted the rock to paydirt from four yards out. Kade Wagner added a PAT to make the scoreboard read, 20-7, with 2:19 left in the first half.
But, the Quaker to Smith connection remained a powerful one. Quaker found his receiver for a 26-yard score, increasing the Mustangs' lead to 26-7 with 45 seconds on the first-half clock. The 2-point attempt was no good.
Hutchinson added another touchdown with a 1-yard carry. Wagner posted the PAT, making it 26-14 with 2:25 left in the third period.
The Indians continued to rally as Jasper Shepps caught a 20-yard pass from Wyatt Ehrenzeller and with the PAT Juniata cut the deficit to 26-21 with 5:08 left in the fourth quarter.
However, the Mustangs would respond in timely fashion as Quaker hit Goodling on a short pass, which then took 50 yards to the house, leaving the score 32-21 in favor of the home club.
West Perry's Cody Erno would later have a 21-yard pick-six against Juniata, making it 39-21 with the point after with 1:39 left in the contest.
Juniata (0-3) is set to visit Newport next Friday in a Week 4 showdown. West Perry travels to play Trinity next week.

BMS clips Norry
BELLEVILLE -- Belleville Mennonite girls soccer beat Northumberland Christian on Friday, 1-0.
Leah Reed scored on a penalty kick in the third minute of the game for BMS.
Next, the Thunder host Juniata Christian on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Tigers double up Blackhawks
COCOLAMUS - East Juniata boys soccer snapped their four-game losing streak to begin the season with a 6-3 win over Susquenita, Thursday.
Wrett Smith put up three of those six points for the Tigers.
Jaiden May, Xander Hunt, and Josef Book each added one to the final score.
Kelton Bonnell had 12 saves in the goal keeping the Blackhawks score down.
The Tigers (1-4-1, 0-0-1 TVL) will travel to Line Mountain to face the Eagles on Tuesday.

Midd-West ties Millionaires in 2OT
MIDDLEBURG - Midd-West girls soccer tied Williamsport on Thursday, 2-2, in double overtime.
Williamsport was the only team to score in the first half, Midd-West returned in the second half ready to score. Sammy Landis put one up on the board with the assistance of Rachel Keister. Williamsport returned the point, adding another for the Millionaires.
Midd-West's Rachel Keister was able to add another goal, tying the game and sending the teams into overtime.
Neither the Mustangs nor the Millionaires were able to score in the first overtime, and the girls headed into double overtime.
Midd-West (2-1-2, 0-1 PIAA) comes back to their home field, on Monday at 5:30 p.m., for their next game against Southern Columbia.

THREE SPRINGS -- Sara Brackbill scored two goals and added two assists as East Juniata girls soccer toppled Southern Huntingdon on Thursday, 10-0.
Makaylyn Peters and Addy Feltman each tallied two goals for the Tigers.
EJ possessed a 7-0 halftime advantage over the Rockets.
Next, East Juniata hosts Susquenita at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
