COCOLAMUS -- Mifflin County volleyball took care of business on the road and swept East Juniata, 3-0, on Thursday night, 25-17, 25-17, 25-7.
The Huskies were led by Dakota Hershberger with 15 kills. Riley Hine and Maggie McMullen tacked on four kills each, and Grace Paez-Davoli chimed in with three kills. Liv Suydam added 16 digs and Jamilee Gilbert had five aces in the victory.
For the Tigers, Kendahl Stroup recorded three digs, Libby Hoffman recorded three digs, and Addison Dimm recorded four digs.
The Huskies JV team beat EJ, 2-0. Ella Hartzler had six aces and six assists. Savannah Bonson chalked up five aces.
Next, the Huskies (2-0) visit Hershey on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. East Juniata (0-2) visits Sugar Valley on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Indians edge Juniata
MIFFLINTOWN -- Millersburg held off Juniata during volleyball action on Thursday, for a 3-2 victory, 25-23, 10-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-6.
Juniata's Isabella Armstrong had 19 assists. Lexi Frontz had 16 kills and 15 digs. Sarah Royer added 23 digs.
Hunter Meifert posted 14 service points for the Indians.
Next, Juniata visits St. Joe's on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
BOYS SOCCER
Tigers tie Indians
COCOLAMUS -- East Juniata boys soccer battled throughout its contest against Millersburg on Thursday night, but ultimately the showdown would result in a draw.
East Juniata (0-3-1) got 18 saves from goalie Kelton Bonnell.
Next, EJ travels to face Greenwood on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

Mustangs rout Huskies
ELLIOTTSBURG -- West Perry girls soccer stumped Mifflin County on Thursday, 8-0.
Sydney Sanno had two goals for the Mustangs.
For the Huskies, Liberty Cook had a dozen saves.
The Huskies (0-3) visit Williamsport on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Lions pummel Spartans
WORMLEYSBURG -- Juniata Christian topped Harrisburg Academy, 7-0, to remain unbeaten during their girls soccer season on Thursday.
Maddie Warner scored a hat-trick for the Lions. Annika Martin tacked on three goals herself. Erin Sheaffer added a goal, too.
Lions coach Todd Taylor has enjoyed seeing his team succeed to begin the year.
"We had a good week this week. We went 3-0 and did not give up a goal on defense. We need to continue to improve and are looking forward to starting league play next week," the coach said.
The Lions have blanked their first three opponents to open this soccer season. They've outscored the opposition, 34-0.
Next, Juniata Christian (3-0) visits Northumberland Christian on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Mustangs stump Danville
MIDDLEBURG -- Midd-West field hockey dominated against Danville on Wednesday with a final score of 8-1.
Mustang Abby Benner put up four of those goals, Kylie Brown added two more to the board and Bailey McCoy along with Maesyn Franquet each added a point for Midd-West (2-0, 0-0 ACAA) as well.
Midd-West travels to Bloomsburg next Wednesday.

Juniata boys tune up before Big Valley
NEWPORT -- Juniata cross country teams competed at Little Buffalo State Park on Wednesday.
The boys took wins over Newport, St. Joseph, and Susquenita.
Wyatt Stroup, Joey Bomberger, and Wesley Ehrisman finished the race in second, third and fourth. Levi Zeiders and Ricky Guante took 6th and 7th.
The Juniata girls had a standout runner as Sylvia Brubaker took charge and came in first for the girls race. The Juniata girls team won against Newport but fell behind St. Joseph's.
Juniata will compete again on Saturday at the Big Valley Invitational in Reedsville.

CARLISLE -- Carlisle handed Mifflin County its second loss of the tennis season on Wednesday, 5-0.
The Thundering Herd (3-1) earned 2-0 victories in the singles matches with five of the six sets being 6-0 wins.
