HARRISBURG -- Mifflin County finished second among the six teams that competed in a Mid-Penn Conference golf match on Thursday.
The Huskies finished 5-1 for the match and as a team had a total score of 334. Mechanicsburg took the overall win for the day with a team total of 325. Jesse Strine of Red Land and Tyler Blask of Bishop McDevitt tied for first place with both shooting a 76.
Mifflin County was led by Blaine Stringfellow who shot a 78 for the day which gave him a third place finish. Bryson Bubb was tied for fourth place along with Mechanicsburg's Cody Fey with a total of 79.
Mifflin County is now (9-3, 9-3) but will return for its next match today at Valley Green Golf Course, home of Red Land.

Midd-West tops Lancers
MIDDLEBURG -- Midd-West took care of business at Shade Mountain Golf Course on Thursday.
The Mustangs beat Loyalsock golf, 174-184. Kyle Beward shot a game-best 36. Teammate Trevor Sheaffer shot a 45, Garrett Leitzel 46, Griffin Paige 47, Chris Walter 50 and Graham Yount 52.
For Loyalsock, Jaden Rankinen posted a team-best 44.
The Mustangs visit Mifflinburg on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
Tennis
MC falls in Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG -- Mifflin County struggled in its Mid-Penn Conference tennis match on Thursday losing to Gettysburg, 4-1.
The lone Mifflin County victory came from Aija Binder who found herself in a tough match with Sophia Neely. In set No. 1, Binder took the first set 6-3 before Neely came out victorious in the second 6-2. But, then in the third and final set, neither one was willing to give in and eventually a tie breaker, Binder dug down deep and defeated Neely by the final of 10-6 to take the match.
Mifflin County travels to Cedar Cliff on Monday.
