ALTOONA -- Alexis O'Brien banged a three-run homer up the middle to push Mifflin County to an 11-0, five-inning win over Altoona in a Commonwealth Division softball game Tuesday.
With two down in the frame, Riley Hine had a base hit and Madison Rowe drew a walk to set up O'Brien.
The Huskies scored four runs each in the first and third. A double error was costly for the Mountain Lions in the opening half, while Dakota Hershberger sent a solo shot to left and Hine doubled in the third.
Maddy Wolfgang struck out 10 in a one-hit gem from the circle.

COCOLAMUS -- Ryley Dressler had two hits and her teammates turned both into runs as East Juniata shut out Newport, 2-0, in Tri-Valley League softball Tuesday.
Macy Buskey and Emma Willow had the RBIs. Buskey had the game's only extra-base hit, a double.
Brenna Watts struck out 11 in the one-hitter.

Mount Union 23, Moshannon Valley 12
HOUTZDALE -- Mount Union pounded out 21 hits yet still had to come from behind, scoring a baker's dozen across the last two innings for a 23-12 Inter-County Conference softball victory over Moshannon Valley Tuesday.
Chelsea Williams was 4-for-5 at the plate. Abbey Brodbeck picked up the win in relief and added a home run to help her cause. Patyn Criswell had a homer and three doubles, plus drove in eight runs.
Trailing by two heading into the sixth, the Trojans batted around with five hits, including a pair of doubles, to take a five-run lead. Three walks along with four hits allowed six more runs to cross the plate in the final turn.
"We stayed in the game and didn't give up. The girls are showing they know how to come from behind," Mount Union coach Renae Suchan said.
The Trojans host Juniata Valley today.

Juniata 9, Upper Dauphin 3
ELIZABETHVILLE -- Upper Dauphin failed to contain the Juniata bats as the Indians won 9-3 in Tri-Valley League softball action on Tuesday.
The Indians had four different batters with multiple-hit games in Regan Lowry, Alexea Frontz, Navi Jackson and Savannah Marshall.
Lowry had a home run while Jackson had a double and Marshall collected two doubles.
Elizabeth Gaisior struckout 13 out of the 27 batters she faced.
Juniata hosts Millersburg on Thursday.
Tennis
Juniata 3, Mifflinburg 2
MIFFLINBURG -- Strong play in doubles carried Juniata to a 3-2 win over Mifflinburg in tennis Tuesday.
Adam French and Gavin Kint gave up just one game, while Emmett Hibbs and Xane Whitesel lost two, but both duos won their matches in straight sets.
The Indians made Mifflinburg work in singles, going three sets in both matches they lost.

MIFFLINBURG -- Alex Kline scored twice after Kyler Everly broke a first-half stalemate as Mifflin County topped Mifflinburg, 4-1, in boys lacrosse Tuesday.
Everly and Kline scored their goals in the second half after Tanner Ferguson matched a Mifflinburg goal in the first. Ferguson also had an assist in the game, and Cameron Barber had two helpers.
Alex Snyder and Quaid Westlin split the goalkeeping duties.
Mifflin County takes on Lewisburg in its final match May 12.

MOUNT UNION -- Mount Union's four-run fifth set up a walk-off win in the sixth as the Trojans blanked Moshannon Valley, 10-0, in an Inter-County Conference baseball game Tuesday.
Braylan Knable's RBI single in the sixth ended it. Bryce Danish doubled to lead off the inning -- the lone extra-base hit in the game -- and scored the game-ending run.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT -- Midd-West scored one at a time on the way to a 5-1 win over South Wiliamsport 5-1 in a Heartland Conference baseball game on Tuesday.
The Mustangs scored a run in five of the seven innings played. Aidan Everly was in 2-for-3 with a double at the plate. Caden Wolfley, Griffin Paige, Preston Arbogast and Matthew Weimer each had an RBI in the game.
Paige got the win on the mound for the Mustangs and went six innings giving up just one hit while striking out eight.
Midd-West travels to Bloomsburg today.

MIFFLINTOWN -- Juniata took care of business and defeated Millersburg in both the boys and girls in a Tri-Valley League track and field meet Tuesday.
On the girls side and Ashlyn Pannebaker led the way winning in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
Autumn Graybill won in the 400 and the high jump for Juniata.
For the boys, Juniata won nine of the 18 events. Makih Hunt, Joey Bomberger, Ty Shellenberger, Tyson Aurand, Heath Hutchinson and Chadwin Fisher were winners.
Juniata won two of the three relays as well.
The Indians travel to the Altoona Mountain Lion Classic on Friday.
