MIFFLINTOWN -- What a difference a quarter makes, as a big fourth period by Juniata carried the Indians over Upper Dauphin 47-45 in a Tri-Valley League boys basketball game on Thursday.
Upper Dauphin held a slim 39-36 lead going into the fourth quarter when Juniata got behind Max Lauver who scored eight of the 11 points scored for the Indians in the period. Meanwhile the Juniata defense held its ground in the frame holding the Trojans to just six points. Wil Laskeowski scored five of those points.
Lauver led the Indians with 16 points while teammate Jacob Condo scored another 11.
Juniata hosts Greenwood on Monday.

East Juniata 40, Greenwood 23
COCOLAMUS -- East Juniata put the pedal to the metal and never looked back as the Tigers defeated Greenwood 40-23 in Tri-Valley League boys basketball action Thursday.
Tanner Barth led the way for the Tigers with a game high of 17 points. Owen Dressler added another eight points for East Juniata.
East Juniata travels to Susquenita on Monday.
