Mustangs fall in overtime

TURBOTVILLE — A second-half goal by Becca Yount tied the score and forced overtime, but Midd-West ultimately fell to Warrior Run in the extra period by a 2-1 final Monday in Heartland Conference girls soccer.

Yount’s goal, at the 17:00 mark, was assisted by Lily Shutt.

Rylee Weaver stopped nine of the 11 shots she faced in goal for the Mustangs.

Midd-West (7-8-1) visits Line Mountain on Wednesday.

Boys soccer

Southern Fulton 3,

Mount Union 1

WARFORDSBURG — Mount Union closed its boys soccer season Monday with a 3-1 road loss to Southern Fulton.

Ryan Dountas scored the lone goal of the match for the Trojans on an assist from Vince Alesi in the second half.

Mount Union goalkeeper Caleb Miller stopped 15 of the 18 shots he faced.

“Their goalie saved six shots on goal, but we had a lot more shots,” Trojans coach Jacob Scott said. “It’s just they tracked a little outside the goal.”

Midd-West 6, Juniata 0

MIDDLEBURG — Midd-West continued its excellent season Monday, blanking Juniata in a 6-0 boys soccer victory at Midd-West High School.

Williamsport 3, East Juniata 0

WILLIAMSPORT — East Juniata dropped a 3-0 volleyball match Saturday at Williamsport. The Tigers fell to the Millionaires by set scores of 25-8, 25-10 and 25-11.

Shyanne Pyle had five digs to lead the Tigers in that category. Kaylene Mann had three kills and recorded an ace and two assists.

East Juniata hosts rival Juniata on Thursday.
