MOUNT WOLF -- Owen Wise shot an 82, best for Mifflin County and 15th overall as the Huskies finished seventh as a team -- but highest among Keystone Division schools -- in the boys Mid-Penn Conference golf championship at Royal Manchester Golf Links Monday.
The top 90 players in the league are invited, and if a team qualifies at least four players individually, then it can compete for the team championship as well.
"The course was an extremely difficult course, and the wind made playing the course even more difficult," coach Aaron Bubb said.
Bradyn Eversole shot an 86, which was good for 20th-place overall. Others competing for Mifflin County were Blake Stringfellow with a 94, Tanner Ferguson with a 101, Alex Kline with a 105, Brody Schnell with a 106 and Bryson Bubb with a 107.
This was the final match on the season for Mifflin County, which ended the season with a school record for victories with a 41-5 overall record.
Reagan Shafranich will be competing in the girls District 6 championship on Thursday at Windber Country Club.

MECHANICSBURG -- The Mifflin County girls soccer team used a pair of goals from Aubrey Strohecker and Brynn Knepp and a valiant effort in net by Bailey McNitt to slow a high-powered Mechanicsburg offense in a 5-4 victory in a Mid-Penn Keystone matchup Monday in Mechanicsburg.
The Huskies (3-1, 3-0 Keystone) opened up with a 2-0 lead in the first half and were able to do just enough to survive the firepower from the Wildcats' Halle Engle in the second half, as she scored three times down the stretch.
Mifflin County's defense held tough through 24 shots by Mechanicsburg and a 9-3 edge in corners.
The Huskies' goal by Kate Bickhart on a free kick proved to be the deciding factor as Engle's third goal still left the Wildcats down by one.
