LEWISTOWN -- The field for the upcoming Babe Ruth All-Star tournaments have been set according to Jim Winder, the state commissioner, form Williamsport.
The 15-year-old tournament will be held in Lock Haven with seven teams, including the host. The other six teams are Scranton, Altoona, Broomall, Ashland, Centre County and Mifflin County.
The tournament will get underway on July 10.
Scranton will be the host for the Mid-Atlantic Regional. Two teams along with Scranton will advance to the regionals. The World Series is being hosted by Eagle Pass, Texas, which is located in southwest Texas on the US-Mexico border.
The 14-year-old tournament will get underway on July 9 with a 10-team field. It is being hosted by Aston Valley, which is located between Philadelphia and Chester. In the 14-year-old field will be Altoona, Broomall, West End, Williamsport, Drexel Hill, Ridley, Roxborogh (21st Ward), Lock Haven, Havertown and Mifflin County. Only one team will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regionals according to Winder. The regionals will be hosted by South Shore (Atlantic City, NJ).
The World Series will take place in Ottumwa, Iowa, a place very familar for Mifflin County fans as that is where the Mifflin County 13-year-olds won the national title in 2016.
The 13-year-old tournament will be held in McAlisterville, hosted by Juniata County. It will start July 10. There are eight teams in the 13-year-old field. The host team (Juniata County), Altoona, Broomall, West End, Williamsport, Drexel Hill, Tri-County (northern Chester County), Scranton and Mifflin County.
Since Altoona is hosting the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, there will be two teams advancing to the regionals along with Altoona. The 2021 13-year-old World Series will take place in Jamestown, New York.
