BEAVER SPRINGS -- The Midd-West baseball team couldn't overcome a strong start by Loyalsock, suffering a 5-1 loss to the Lancers in a PHAC baseball contest on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mustangs (8-3) scored their lone run in the sixth as Caden Wolfley stole home.
Griffen Paige threw three innings for Midd-West, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out five. Caden Wolfley led Midd-West with two hits.
The two teams started Wednesday night's action by completing the matchup between the two teams that began on April 7th that was tied at 7-7 after seven innings. The Mustangs were the road team in the contest and they plated four runs to win 11-8 in eight innings.
The Mustangs return to action on Friday when they travel to Central Columbia.

Girls: Huntingdon 86, Juniata 64

HUNTINGDON -- The Juniata track and field team split its match with Huntingdon on Tuesday afternoon as the Indians boys team won 89-56, while the girls lost 86-64.
Charlie Barton won the 110 hurdles (17.41 seconds) and 300 hurdles (48.58 seconds) for the boys team while Mackenzie Bennett won the 100 hurdles (17.77 seconds) and the 300 hurdles (56.63 seconds). Ashlyn Pannebaker won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.84 seconds while Emily Houtz won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:32.54 and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 16:40.16.
James Hazard also excelled, winning the 800 (2:13.76) the mile (5:02.96) and two-mile (12:18.63). Ty Shellenberger won the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash. Zack Hart won the shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 8 inches to highlight throwing events.
Juniata returns to action on May 3 when they travel to Millersburg.

Juniata 5, Shikellamy 0
MIFFLINTOWN -- The Juniata tennis team kept rolling on Wednesday afternoon, picking up another 5-0 victory over Shikellamy at Juniata High School.
Gavin Kint won the No. 1 singles match for Juniata 6-0, 6-0, over C.J. Doebler while Jack Strawser won No. 2 singles over Micah Stahl, 6-1,6-2. Zach Marshall won the No. 3 singles match over Luke Fetool, 6-0, 6-2.
Juniata picked up forfeits in each of the doubles matches as Shikellamy did not field opponents for the Indians.
The Indians (13-1) will return to action on May 3 when they host Huntingdon.
