Romantic love is the most complex of all

The version of Valentine’s Day we experience now is quite different then the origins that the holiday may have evolved from. One particular celebration that may be associated with its origins took place in Rome from February 13-15, it was the feast of Lupercalia. According to an article by Arnie Seipel with NPR, “the men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain.” He also added some details like the men were naked and drunk and yet young women would line up for this absurdity because they believed this strange ceremony was ...

Don’t be afraid to spread some love

Meanwhile, 56% of drivers are texting during their trip through a parking lot. Whatever the reasons are for poor parking ...

We are fortunate to report on the stories of people like Josh Looney, a former Lewistown Area High School football player who was compelled enough about the multi-purpose stadium project that he spoke to school board members at a recent Mifflin County School Board meeting before they cast an important vote for the project. Looney shared many of his experiences about playing at Mitchell Field in ...

Lessons learned from unhealthy lifestyle

I never realized the importance of my health until I lost it. I used to think I could eat whatever I wanted, skip out on exercise, and my body would always bounce back. But all those poor choices and sedentary lifestyle caught up with me. I started experiencing fatigue and a lack of energy, a type of brain fog. I couldn’t shake off the extra weight I put on through the years. I thought it was a normal part of aging. The dad bod extraordinaire. When you are young, you feel indestructible. You feel like you’re Superman or Superwoman. You don’t think about the long-term ...
