Only God is most trustworthy, not man

To the Editor:

We enter this world at the time appointed by God for our birth. We enter life knowing nothing. We have to learn everything: how to eat, how to talk, how to walk, etc. We learn from those God has placed in our lives to teach us. Our primary learning comes from our parents, and we learn other things from others we have contact with.

One very important thing we needed to learn is to trust and who we could put our trust in. Not all of those who become involved in our learning of knowledge teach us what is true and right. So we had to learn how to distinguish between truth and falsehood, right and wrong, and good and evil. I find all we need to know in these areas has been given to us in the word of God which is commonly known as the Bible. When we read and study God's word then we learn who we can trust and who we cannot.

Putting our trust in man is usually not beneficial to us. Man normally looks out for himself and uses others to benefit himself. But man in and of himself cannot even help himself and must depend on others (Ps.22:29; Jer.10:23).

God is the only one we can truly trust. He is our rock, our strength, our all (Ps.18:30,31:3; Acts17:28). He does not change (Ja.1:17) and fulfills all He has promised (Rom.4:21; 2Cor.1:20). We can, in all situations, fully trust Him (Isa.26:3).
