Our nation's founders established US as a republic
To the Editor:
In a recent editorial post, it was declared that our nation was founded as both a democracy and a republic. That is a fabrication that would demean the founder's intent for our country. Never, and I mean never, was our government to be a shared consort. Never, and I mean never, was democracy mentioned in either the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of this nation. It was established, and clearly stated, that this nation was to be a Republic. I believe only the ignorant would deny that. Many of the founders, including Jefferson and Madison abhorred the foundation of this nation as a democracy. They were educated men who studied and gleaned from historical evidence the many failures of countries that entwined themselves under the banner of a democracy. I believe it was Jefferson who referred to democracy as but mob rule. So many of the despots who existed did so under the title, one way or another, of being a democratic form of government: the Nazis and the USSR are good examples. Democracy is a faux god. It gives socialists and other power grabbers an avenue into the minds of the uneducated and/or ignorant. It is a welcome concept for the parasites, the illegals, the fraudsters and those many others who would hide under that banner. I am willing to acknowledge the noun democrat for what it is but to call its party democratic is an adjective used to hide so many of its members from their socialistic goals. But that is exactly what is happening in our country today with the advancement of the democrat socialists who would destroy this nation as have others who now regret having chosen them to be their leaders. In my opinion, controllers would be a better term. The question to be answered by our citizens is, do we want to have control over our own lives or allow others to be our masters? For the past 250 years we have chosen the former but under the democrat socialists, I believe we will be living under the control of the latter. Make your choice at the ballot box.
