Thank you to first responders in recent fire
To the Editor:
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the first responders who responded to our recent fire at 139 W. Market St. Thank you to Heritage Fire Co., City Hook & Ladder, Burnham Fire Co., Reedsville Fire Co., Milroy Hose Co., Junction Fire Co., Granville Fire Co., West Granville Fire Co., Chief Logan Fire Co., Friendship Fire Co. of Port Royal, Mifflintown Hose Co., Beale Township Fire Co., Mount Union Fire Co., Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue, FAME EMS, and Milroy Hose Co. EMS.
An estimated 100 firefighters worked into the early morning hours to control and put out the fire. Bystanders commented on the quick response by the fire companies.
Firefighters rescued four tenants from the fire, escaping with minor injuries. We were so sorry to hear that firefighters were also injured fighting the blaze. You put your life on the line for us, and we appreciate your sacrifice and hope you all are doing fine.
Thank you to all responding police officers from the Lewistown Police Department, Granville Township Police Department, Mifflin County Regional Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police.
Thank you to the Lewistown Borough, American Red Cross, and all utility companies.
We would also like to thank all those in the community who reached out to us to lend a helping hand, if needed, to us and our tenants.
Thank you to the bystander who phoned in the 911 call. Your action made a difference and may have saved lives.
We apologize if we missed anyone, but know that we are grateful to all.
Again, to our first responders, thank you for your hard work and dedication to our community. It is greatly appreciated, and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
