Governor’s inability to represent Pa at National Mall disappointing
To the Editor:
In response to Gov. Shapiro’s inability to find any sponsors for the PA booth at the National Mall in D.C. over the Fourth of July is, in my opinion, a disgrace to all Pennsylvanians. PA is a beautiful state, full of beauty, entrepreneurs, farming, on and on. The Declaration (of Independence) was signed here and many of our statesmen were there. I’m embarrassed and angry. I think we can do better.

Juniata has opportunity to move into future
To the Editor:
Juniata County is at a crossroads. Does it move into the future, stay as is, or go backward? To a lot of us, getting medical and dental care close to home is a real concern. I’m sure anyone looking to move into this area would also be looking for a community where they could find the basics for their family.
With the closing of Dr. Crim’s office in Port Royal, we will be down to one dentist here in the county and that office is no longer taking new customers.
The population here in the county includes many seniors and an active Amish community who like to stay close to home for their care. What are they to do when dentists are few and far between?
I wonder if Geisinger has ever considered adding a dental clinic to its office here in Mifflintown? It would be the answer to a real problem and one that would be welcomed by many. I hope they will consider this suggestion.
