Support Tracy Powell for MDJ

To the Editor:

My name is Shaw Bonson, and during my tenure as a young Marine, I received steadfast support from Tracy Powell. The district magistrate proactively reached out to my mother to inquire about my well-being and my anticipated return home. Upon the completion of my four years of service, Tracy recognized my passion for community protection and my uncertainty regarding whether to pursue a career in law enforcement or healthcare. She graciously invited me to her office and court in the courthouse annex to spend the day shadowing her as well as law enforcement professionals. This experience was invaluable and exemplified her dedication and commitment as the Magisterial District Judge, reflecting her genuine care for the community and its members. For these reasons and as a United States Marine Corps veteran, I wholeheartedly endorse and support Tracy Powell in her reelection campaign for Magisterial District Judge.

Vote John Miles for MDJ

To the Editor:

I am submitting this letter to pledge my support of John Miles for the position of Magisterial District Judge, and several reasons for this.

I have known John Miles for close to 25 years, as a paramedic as well as a police officer. John Miles is a man with decades of experience in emergency situations. John Miles is a U.S Army veteran, who served as a combat medic and a Sergeant in a Light Infantry Division, before joining the U.S. Army Reserves as a medic with a Mechanized Infantry Division.

John Miles also works to provide training for civilians, hospital employees, teachers, military, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel to make sure they are always ready in emergency situations. John Miles teaches at Penn State University as well as HACC and South Central Mountains Regional Task Force, providing instruction to emergency personnel.

John Miles is a member of the Crisis Intervention Team at both Mifflin and Centre Counties and is also a member of the Drug Task Force and DUI Task Force. He received his certification to be a Magisterial District Judge in late 2023 and has maintained that certification throughout, meaning that he could step into that office immediately following the election.

John Miles raised a family on the south side of Lewistown in Mifflin County. He is a volunteer with several local boosters and foundations. He is the president of the local Fraternal Order of Police Lodge and a life member of the VFW as well as the NRA.

With more than four decades combined of Military, EMS and police service, it is very clear to me that he would be a knowledgeable and fair minded Magisterial District Judge while also being tough on crime and criminals.

On May 20, vote for John Miles for Magisterial District Judge!
