President Trump ‘drains the swamp’

To the Editor:

There is some pretty clear evidence when a person reads a number of President Trump’s executive orders. Trump is using executive power to restore separation of powers in our Constitution. He is taking strides to undermine the power of the federal bureaucracy through executive actions. He truly is starting to drain the swamp.

President Trump has signed orders instructing federal agencies to roll back regulations and attempting to ensure they remain accountable to the people through presidential supervision. Trump has directed agencies to review unlawful or burdensome regulations, such as those raising serious constitutional difficulties, resting on unlawful delegation of legislative powers or implicating socially, politically or economically significant matters without clear statutory authority. That is truly an attempt to end federal overreach.

Trump is attacking Congress’ past delegation of its legislative responsibilities. Hopefully, he will succeed and continue to pursue his reset of our Constitution and separation of powers. Drain the swamp…..It’s certainly much larger than I ever imagined.

One man’s retribution, another man’s tribulation

To the Editor:

I originally submitted this over a month before the election, but it was not printed. Its point is made even more salient, however, now that Trump’s plan has been put into motion.

A year ago, this month at the CPAC convention, Trump reminded the crowd that in 2016 he began his speech by saying, I am your voice, he continued, today I add, I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution. I am your retribution.”

He promised them great signs and wonders when he said, “Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled. It will be settled quickly.” He boastfully continued, “It will take me no longer than one day. I know exactly what to say. This is the most dangerous time in the history of our country and Joe Biden is leading us into oblivion,” Trump said.

The CPAC participants erupted in rapturous applause and chants of, “Four more years!” when he proclaimed this covenant to his chosen flock. Trump said, “With you at my side, we will demolish the deep state. We will expel the war mongers. We will evict Joe Biden from the White House. And we will liberate America from these villains and scoundrels once and for all. As I stand here today, I am the only candidate that can make this promise. I will very easily prevent World War 3.”

Trump will seek the help from his devoted disciples to aid him in his quest for retribution. But I offer this as a warning so that you are not deceived. One man’s retribution is another man’s tribulation. Will you help bring about the tribulation?
