Association thanks helpers in Meat Canning project
To the Editor:
Our annual Meat Canning Project is complete. We canned 40,000 pounds of meat, 20,000 of chicken, and 20,000 of pork which produced 26,241 cans of product. This number puts our total to 841,419 cans of meat canned since our beginning in 1975. May God bless and keep all who have supported, and all who will receive these cans. In March, we will be distributing 107 cases of meat to our local organizations.
A very special thanks to all the groups that traveled hours to our project to volunteer their time, may God bless you for your service.
We thank all churches, the groups, the businesses, the families, and the individuals who supported us with food supplies and financial gifts. We could not do God’s work here in Central Pennsylvania, without your gracious support.
We thank Laura Litwiller, Sylvia Diem, and Elizabeth Peachey and those individuals who helped in feeding the canners. Job well done.
To Sylvanus Peachey, our Canning Coordinator, Jesse Diem, Assistant Coordinator, the Directors, and the committee members who were able to help with the canning, I would like to say, “Great job, thank you.”
A big thank you goes out to J. Loren and Wanda Yoder for the housing and transportation of the Canner Boys again this year. We appreciate your continual service to this project.
Special thanks to these area businesses who go out of their way to support this project each year: Penn Equipment Co., Big Valley Feed & Grain, S & S Trash Service, our local Sentinel, Boring’s Trucking, and Coffee Run Trucking- we thank you so much for your service.
We give special thanks to the Canner Boys who are giving two years of voluntary service to the canning project. May God bless you for your commitment.
If you have not yet donated to this project, please do! We are still in need of financial help. WE would like to remind you that the monies given are tax deductible, and all the monies are used for this project. Monetary gifts can be sent to: Central PA World Hunger Assoc., PO Box 76, Belleville, PA. 17004.
May this meat be a blessing to those who are hungry, and may the Lord bless and keep you for your kindness.
Together we can.
