Share gratitude for Griffith and Rager

To the Editor:

In closing out my tenure as the President of Mifflin County Veterans’ Association, there are two men I want to publicly recognize and wholeheartedly thank.

Mifflin County Plant Manager Lonnie Griffith, who for a number of years also supervised and directed the care and the maintenance of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Monument Square, Downtown Lewistown. It is certainly the “Gem” of the town simply put, “It’s Beautiful!”

The second fellow I would like to recognize is Ben Rager, Lewistown Borough director of Public Works. Since taking over the helm as the director a few years ago, Ben has directed his crew in the care of Victory Park. This is no easy task for Ben’s crew due to the steep slopes surrounding the park. The beauty of the park downtown is second only to Monument Square. Keep up the good work that you do, fellows.
