Gas price hike causes domino effect

When the Democrats say that they want to put price limits on the things that we buy to stop inflation, I think they are barking up the wrong tree. I think all that will do is cause shortages of all types of products and services.

I feel inflation was caused, for the most part, when Biden and the Democrats cut away with our oil and natural gas production. The shortage of our energy production caused the price of fuel to go way up. Gasoline and diesel fuel went up by as much as two to three and even four dollars a gallon.

When Trump was in office gas was much cheaper. When I was in New Mexico I bought gas for under $1.30 a gallon. When the cost of fuel doubles and triples, the cost of everything that is transported by truck, car, train, and plane has to go up. Diesel fuel is even more expensive than gasoline. When natural gas goes up and propane which is made from oil, eventually goes up because of a shortage of oil, it costs more to heat buildings where people work in offices or factories that produce products we need. There, I believe, is the cause of the biggest part of inflation.

Now when someone says that they are going to regulate what someone can charge for the things that they produce and they (the producers) can’t raise their prices to compensate for their increased costs, they will not produce those products. This will cost everyone because when those things are no longer available, we will either do without or we will find someone who will sell these things at an exorbitant cost and will break the laws that these Democrats want put in place.

Is that the kind of society you want to live in? I DO NOT!

Send former President Trump to retirement

To the Editor:

We have reached a place of ridiculousness in my opinion. How is it possible that this man is the leader of a major political party in this country? Seriously, the man is a convicted felon!

Family values, please! The man allegedly cheated on his mistress while his third wife was at home with their newborn. Law and order, please! The man is awaiting sentencing for the crimes he has already been convicted of while waiting for, I can’t even remember how many, court cases.

In my opinion, how can anyone listen to this man and think yes, that is who I think should be the leader of the free world? Oh, wait, I know the answer, MAGA media and the billionaires behind them.

Please, when is this going to end? Aren’t you tired of all his whining and complaining? The same old same old. In my opinion, he wants us to live in fear. I believe he is saying America is bad unless he is in charge.

The reason I say this is ridiculous is why would you put a criminal in the White House? I don’t think he could pass a background check to get a job. How is this possible?

In my opinion, it is time to send this man off to retirement.

You know, a real man of the people.
