Do not be silent about misinformation
(Editor's note: This letter is in response to Juanita Byler's letter in the August 15 edition of the Sentinel.)
To the Editor:
Ninety million Christians with 15 million not voting is interesting. Have you considered that our country of 345 million plus leaves many who are not Christian? Do not discount the cultures, needs, and beliefs of others. Equating morality with only being Christian is offensive. God is not only a Christian God, Check out the readings of Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. They all believe in God, morality, and 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. Many have rejected organized religion because of the narrowness of thought.
Juanita, I'd like to know the specific states and laws that allow the killing of babies one month after birth. I submit it is zero.
Your letter seems to blame women for using mifepristone pills. Punish the women for choosing control over their bodies? What about the men?
In my opinion, embryos are not children until they are born. Women are dying striving to get (what I call) medical care. Where are the Christians with
compassion?
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was correct about silence. We cannot continue to be silent about the misinformation being spewed without facts. We cannot be silent about the hate spewed against those who believe in a diverse, compassionate country.

God's will will be done
To the Editor:
As soon as I read Juanita Byler's letter in the Aug. 15 edition of the Sentinel, I knew I had to get my pen and write this letter. Juanita is absolutely 100% correct in what she said. I am still in the process of recovering from an illness that nearly killed me. I have done my best to keep a promise I made to God, that while I was trying to recover, I was going to ask everyone I met if they had accepted Christ as their Savior. Most people told me that they had. It was about 90% that said yes. Anyone who did not answer in the affirmative I asked them if they would like to do just that.
Now as I said 90% or more said yes that they needed to live as Christians, and that meant to vote and vote for the godly principles of the Bible. We who are saved need to do exactly that and we need to be as vocal and speak out and not be afraid to do so. Anyone who knows me knows I am not afraid to speak, or in this case, write. I don't care what static I may get. We all need to be that way, and voting is one of the best ways to do it.
In the end, God's will will be done. It is just like it was in the book of Esther where Mordecai told Esther she needed to speak to King Ahasuerus to try to save the Jewish people from annihilation and not to worry for her life. He told her that if she did not do as he told her, God would find another way to save her people, but she and her family might be lost. Mordecai told Esther that God may have had her in her position for the very purpose of saving her people.
Before the flood, the population would not listen to Noah when he was building the Ark. It took him many years to build it. They would not believe there would ever be a flood. After all, it never even rained. They kept on living their lives in sinful ways until the door to the ark was closed and then the rain started to fall. Only Noah, his wife, and their three sons and their wives were saved. Only eight out of probably millions were saved.
