Our future depends on common sense
Editor's Note: This is a response to Mr. Gill's letter to the editor in the Aug. 2 edition of The Sentinel.
To the Editor:
For those that don't know Project 2025 is a conservative agenda initiated by the Heritage Foundation as a guide for the next Republican administration. Donald Trump says he does not endorse it and has his own Agenda 47 that mirrors Project 2025 in many ways. The main points of Project 2025 cover immigration, climate change, energy, education and gender issues with a very conservative approach. I do not agree with the totality of every measure but there are many points that make good sense. I disagree with Mr. Gill's take on the severity outcome of climate change on our grandchildren.
Mr. Gill and I are both worried about the future and our grandchildren for very different reasons. With the stroke of a pen, Joe Biden signed the Infrastructure Bill and the Inflation Reduction Act that insures our grandchildren will live with what is likely to be insurmountable debt.
What will blue skies, cool summers, good old deep freeze winters do? Not much else because the economy will likely be broken. How ridiculous ! We have witnessed firsthand the last three years what poor energy policy can produce. Our economy has not improved. Joe Biden has allowed Iran to sell oil so they can fund terrorist and work on a nuclear bomb.
Without full cooperation of the industrial nations of the world, American efforts will do little to correct the problems we face in Earth's climate. The United States makes up between 4 and 5 percent of the world population. Yet, left wing believers think we can lead the other 95 percent to a better climate. How totally arrogant to postulate these climate proposals! Ruin our economy trying to control something that is beyond our control and what are we left with? No money because we're bankrupt, no heat because we can't drill and no air conditioning because we can't make enough electricity to run cars and homes at the same time.
What is guaranteed? More government that has provided unsustainable solutions. Not to help you, but to control you. Please stand in that government bucket and tell me when you have lifted yourself to a better life!
Every person on Earth deserves the opportunity for a quality life. The more people, the more problems. We are all part of Nature and Mother Nature is ultimately calling the shots, no matter what the Left thinks. World population is growing exponentially, America is about stagnate without counting illegals. When it comes to climate we must think beyond our border and beyond international pipe dream solutions.
We can all work together to make this a better world. Common sense should be our guide. If you have it, you know we have been bamboozled the last four years. Don't be fooled again! I will not endorse Project 2025.
I will not vote for Harris because of her policy record. Unlike her I did not endorse Black Lives Matter, defund the police, open borders, more than two genders, men in women's sports or the spending of money we don't have by printing it because we can, thereby jeopardizing our financial future.
We must show common sense in November, left, right and center. Our future depends upon it.
