Trump disliked before presidency
To the Editor:
This letter is in response to John Brittain's letter in the Sentinel on June 25. In that letter, he asks, "Who are the Trump haters and how did they get that way?" He then goes on to offer his thoughts about how they got that way. While I can't speak to all Trump haters, I can assure you that none of the reasons provided are the reason why I dislike Mr. Trump.
When I was younger I used to listen to the Howard Stern radio show. Mr. Trump was interviewed numerous times on that show. During those interviews, Mr. Trump came off as a spoiled, self-absorbed braggart, particularly about his wealth and his exploits with women. The Billy Bush tape where he boasts he can "grab em by the ....." reinforced that image. The fact that he's been married three times and has allegedly cheated on every one of his wives reinforces that image. The fact that a jury found him liable for sexual assault in a dressing room reinforces that image. The fact that his current wife never appeared in court with him while he was on trial for covering up and mischaracterizing a business expense for having sex with a porn star reinforces that image. My dislike began long before he ran for President in 2016, and it continues today.
While Donald Trump was running for President and while he was President he insulted me regularly by lying. He insulted my intelligence when he said he "was going to build a wall and that Mexico would pay for it." He insulted my intelligence by saying that Covid was under control and would soon disappear when it first appeared here. He insulted my intelligence again when hundreds were dying and he said "We shut it down coming from China." And once again, he insulted my intelligence by claiming Covid "would soon end" while thousands were dying of the pandemic. He didn't stop there. He said he knows more about ISIS than his generals. He also ridiculously theorized that chlorine might be a solution for COVID-19 and that hydroxychloroquine could be used as a preventative or a treatment for COVID-19.
In addition, Donald Trump mocked a handicapped reporter by gesturing wildly in a campaign speech. He has shown numerous times that while he demands loyalty, he demonstrates that he has no loyalty to anyone including his wives. Trump seems to idolize dictators like Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, and Alexander Lukashenko. He even vowed to be a dictator for a day if he is re-elected. While he didn't encourage others to get the COVID-19 vaccine, he got it quietly.
It is Donald Trump's total lack of character that makes me dislike him and that also makes him a very poor choice for any elected office including the office of the President.

Holy spirit leads in right direction
To the Editor:
After watching the debate on TV last night I think it should be plain to everyone that the candidate I want to be president is Trump.
There should be a cartoon on the opinion page of the Sentinel showing Biden with a Pinocchio nose about four feet long with branches with leaves coming off of it.
This would represent the number of times that Biden told absolute whopper lies about himself and Trump. This certainly demonstrates how I see the entire Democrat party or at least those in leadership. They are willing to lie about anything that they think they can get away with.
After that, they know that most of the so-called media journalists would try to back them up and cover for them. In my opinion, the entire leadership of the Democrat party is interested in one thing and one thing only, winning elections any way that they can. So that they can control the sheep in this country. They want to have one party control of this nation, just like the communist parties in Russia, China, and other communist countries. They want absolute power in the U.S. but, remember absolute power corrupts.
The only time this is not the case is the absolute power of GOD. HE has absolute power and his will, will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Everyone should be more concerned with what GOD wants and not what man wants. The only way you can be sure to be where you need to be as far as GOD is concerned accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and have your sins forgiven, then his holy spirit can begin to lead you in the right direction.

gratitude for fireworks contributors
To the Editor:
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this year's Independence Day Fireworks Celebration a resounding success! We believe it was the best show our community has experienced in a very long time, with the grand finale being truly spectacular.
As with any successful event, it takes the collaboration of many individuals and groups to make it happen. First and foremost, we would like to thank our generous and amazing event sponsors. Without your support, especially for an event of this caliber, it simply wouldn't be possible! Next, we would like to express our gratitude to Granville Township for providing our launch site, the Granville Township Police for ensuring safety, and the Granville Fire Company for being on-site in case of emergency. We also wish to thank our local media outlets for their assistance in getting fireworks information and updates out to the community.
Our Pyrotecnico crew was outstanding, delivering a top-notch show. An interesting fact: the same crew had shot the Independence Day fireworks in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, just two days before our event!
