US sacrifices friends, allies to retain power
To the Editor:
Is Ukraine our ally or Russia? The U.S. imports an average of 209,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and 500,000 bpd of other petroleum products from Russia, yes Russia. So, we're funding Russia's war in Ukraine! Ukraine had shown it could strike most of the oil export infrastructure in western Russia, putting about 60 per cent of the country's exports at risk. The consequences have included decreased production, rising prices, and damage to Russia's military industrial capacity. Now the Biden administration 'urges Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries'. Why? The U.S. objections come as Biden faces a tough re-election battle this year with petrol prices on the rise. "Nothing terrifies a sitting American president more than a surge in pump prices during an election year." Ukraine responded that it won't stop these attacks, calling the refineries legitimate military targets. Who are we supporting, Russia or Ukraine?
Is Israel our ally or Hamas? Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said earlier this month he'd approved a plan to invade Rafah. Israel said that it has to launch an assault on Rafah because it's the last bastion of Hamas, 5,000 to 8,000 Hamas fighters are holed up there. Vice President Harris suggested there could be "consequences" for Israel if it moves ahead with a planned invasion of Rafah, Senate Majority Leader Schumer called for new elections in Israel to replace Netanyahu, Biden agreed. Netanyahu decried as "wholly inappropriate" meddling in his country's politics. So, Biden turned to the UN to stop Israel. The UN called for a ceasefire at our urging; as members voted we abstained, a slap in the face of our ally Israel who was lucky China and Russia voted no. Now Biden is withholding weapons and intelligence from Israel. So, who is our ally?
Since Hamas fighters launched their assault against Israel, senior Biden administration officials have tried to throw water on reports that Iran was directly tied to the attacks and rebut allegations that the Biden administration enabled them by unfreezing $6 billion dollars' worth of frozen Iranian assets as part of an agreement to release six American citizens from Iranian custody. News reports say Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had been coordinating with Hamas since August, which is about when the U.S. agreed to the prisoner swap. Funding our enemies' attack on our ally Israel?
Whose votes does Biden need? 'Biden needs the Muslim vote' to win in 2024. Arab Americans in the battleground state of Michigan, which has one of the largest Muslim and Arab American populations in the country, are furious with Biden over Israel support. More than 100,000 voters in Michigan's Democratic primary this week selected 'uncommitted' rather than President Biden. Many of those who chose uncommitted are displeased with the president's support of Israel in Gaza, and Michigan is, of course, considered a critical state in this fall's presidential election.
Is law enforcement important to the Biden administration? Biden also faces new Democrat unrest over Muslim judge nominee Mangi who would be the first Muslim American to serve as a federal appellate judge if the Senate votes to confirm Biden's pick for the Philadelphia-based U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Third Circuit. "Mangi's affiliation with the Alliance of Families for Justice is deeply concerning," Cortez Masto said in a statement. "This organization has sponsored a fellowship in the name of Kathy Boudin, a member of the 'domestic terrorist organization Weather Underground' and advocated for the 'release of individuals convicted of killing police officers'. Just what we need as more and more police are gunned down!
Why the border must remain open
The Center for Immigration Studies said Biden used taxpayer dollars to deposit more than 300,000 immigrants at 43 airports across the nation 'bypassing our border and all immigration laws'. They are considered "parolees" under a 1952 law that Biden has run wild with. As the AP reported, "Biden has exercised 'parole authority' far more than any of his predecessors. ... Biden has granted entry to at least 1 million people using parole, not just the 327,000 who flew from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, or Venezuela through December." Recently Republicans proposed a bill to stop these flights and the use of taxpayer dollars to fund them. The Democrats unanimously voted it down! Why? The 435 House of Representatives seats are divided among the states "based on their population". That means the census plays a big role. Gained seats also gives states more sway in the Electoral College, which determines the presidency every four years. The total number of a state's representatives plus two, for its two senators, equals a state's total electoral vote. So, 10 + million illegal immigrants moved to key states can determine the presidency. Biden needs open borders to bring about a one party system in America!
The choice is yours in November.
