Who is the real cream of the crop?

Controversy has always been an element of our republic. It goes hand in hand with compromise or the resolution of disagreements. There have been unsavory verbal incidents in Congress before, Presidents have had affairs, women have jumped from congressmen's cars and landed in the tidal basin, there have been burglaries to support campaigns and there will be similar events in the future.
The conduct yesterday of Congresswomen making rude comments about another's appearance during a hearing is just unacceptable. This conduct has no place in a chamber reserved for what is supposed to be a place of respectful discourse. The occupants of these chambers are supposed to be the cream of the crop of our society. I am ashamed my government conducts business this way. The erosion of adult behavior is yet another indication of our Republic sliding down the slippery slope of a rotting Democracy.
It is the lack of respect that fosters this behavior. You can respect the Office held or the person in that office. Today there is little respect for anything in our Government. We have only ourselves to blame for electing representatives more interested in their extreme views than the welfare of their constituents.
The real cream of the crop is smart enough to avoid government service with its slow degradation and the humiliation associated with a dog and pony show that once was the greatest Government body on Earth.
Heaven help us!

Biden slows transition to clean energy

Certainly, we've all heard certain politicians' sincere, heartfelt rhetoric that CLIMATE CHANGE is a worldwide issue.
Typically, described as the existential threat of our time, that is on a short course to annihilate the human race. Oftentimes punctuated with the emphatic phrase: 'This is no hyperbole'! Well, what do you know? President Biden unilaterally decided that securing Michigan's Presidential 2024 electoral votes trumps (pun intended) saving the human race.
China, a reminder they are a large part of the human race, has developed and produced EVs that can be purchased for under $15,000.
This compares to the average U.S. EV selling at $53,000. Hold on, to be fair "apples-to-apples" one must add the $7,500. Federal EV credit makes the total typical U.S. cost a bit more than $60,000.
The obvious conclusion is that the EVs manufactured in the U.S. would not be cost-competitive with the Chinese models. This would result in factory closings in Michigan and not bid well for Biden's reelection prospects.
So, President Biden decided to throw the human race under the bus and place an unprecedented 100% tariff on the Chinese EVs. This will greatly slow the transition from carbon-spewing gas guzzlers to clean energy. Would somebody please urgently call Greta Thunberg?

The Pennsylvania Sports Network and Betsy's Main Street in Milroy hosted their Fourth Annual Kentucky Derby on May 4 and raised more than $3,000. All proceeds were donated to the Mifflin County Veterans Organization.
