Voters: Let's not be misled

To the Editor:

The article "Trump takeover of the GOP" is typical of many previous articles and those expected from now till November – misleading, not factual, attacks on Trump. I will address a few issues.

NATO – "There is no reason for the American taxpayers, in the face of our own substantial deficit, to continue to subsidize Germany, France, England, Norway, Belgium and other prosperous European democracies." Trump going off on NATO again? No, it was Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., in 1994, talking about a NATO burden-sharing amendment to the defense authorization act. He wanted to "start pulling troops out of Europe" unless our allies paid more to keep them there.

Unless European allies start spending more on capability and work out cooperation with NATO, the alliance could become "a relic of history." Undiplomatic, irresponsible comment? Only if Trump said it, but sorry, it was Pres. Clinton's Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, fulminating at a NATO meeting in 2000.

Estonian Foreign Minister Tsahkna and Netherlands Prime Minister Rutte and others acknowledged that Trump was correct in pushing for NATO countries to contribute more to defense spending. Poland's president went further and called on other members of the NATO alliance to raise their spending on defense to 3% of their gross domestic product.

Jews – Trump was the first president to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capitol, moved our embassy there, and recognized Golan Heights as part of Israel. On the other hand twice, the Democrats tried to overthrow the Israel government – 2015 under Obama/Biden the State Department gave $349,276 to One Voice's Israeli "and Palestinian" branches to unseat Netanyahu and 2024 under Biden/Harris, including Chuck Schumer (D) Senate Majority leader, called for his removal while our ally is at war. With these kinds of friends, who needs enemies!

Jews, Catholics, Muslims – In February 2017, President Trump publicly condemned anti-Semitic incidents in the United States. In 2019, President Trump signed an order expanding the interpretation of Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The expansion included "discrimination rooted in anti-Semitism" as a form of discrimination based on race, color, and national origin.

Pres. Biden FBI Scandal - From Judicial Watch report, "Contrary to statements under oath by FBI Director Wray, official documents proved that the FBI was targeting Catholics as 'violent extremists' and the undercover operation was widespread." "These documents disprove the FBI's narrative that the spy operation against Catholics and churches was limited to one field office." All Christians should be alarmed!

Support of Ukraine – CNNPolitics , Sept.26, 2019 - "While it never provided lethal aid, many of the items that the Obama administration did provide were seen as critical to Ukraine's military." "The Trump administration did approve the provision of arms to Ukraine, including sniper rifles, rocket launchers and Javelin anti-tank missiles, something long sought by Kiev." Need help, ask Trump!

The Trump Party is no different than the political party of the Confederate States, really. "After the election of Republican Abraham Lincoln, "Southern Democrats" led the charge to secede from the Union and establish the Confederate States." (Microsoft BING) Trump wants to save America!

Jan. 6 riot - Read carefully. "The former J6 Select Committee apparently withheld Mr. Ornato's critical witness testimony from the American people because it contradicted their predetermined narrative. Mr. Ornato's testimony proves what Mr. Meadows has said all along: President Trump did in fact offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol, which was turned down."

CNNpolitics, Oct.22, 2023 - "Although the Supreme Court struck down President Joe Biden's signature student loan forgiveness program in late June, his administration has found ways to cancel more than $48 billion in debt since then." Washington Examiner, Dec. 23, 2022 - "Biden signs defense authorization bill into law despite 'unconstitutional' concerns." National Review, Jan.25, 2024 article - "It is not Texas that's defying the law - it's Biden." So, who's the dictator? Biden!

The Democrats want a system like Russia and will do anything to achieve this goal. Russia does not have a two-party system. Russia has a "dominant party system" with United Russia, a party supporting President Putin, winning legislative elections with large majorities. Elections in Russia are "not free and fair" and United Russia "enjoys all types of unfair advantages." The independent organization Freedom House, which ranks countries on the degree of freedom, gave Russia a score of 20/100 and classified it as "not free." "Although opposition remains legal, there are various restrictions on civil liberties and opposition activity in Russia." Any popular opposition leader is eliminated one way or another as we have seen with attacks on Trump and his family since 2016.

Whether black or white, woman or man, Jew or Gentile, Christian or not, student or not, etc. we only have one choice if we want to remain a democratic free nation - Donald Trump.
