Christians must remember 'true' Israel
To the Editor:
There are so many "Christians" that proclaim that the nation of Israel is an important part of what is considered the "end times."
The Israel in the bible times was destroyed in 70 AD by the Romans and the area which is now Israel was settled by Khazars from an area of southern Russia in the 7th century AD. The present-day nation of Israel is inhabited by Muslims as well as Jews and are individuals in need of trusting in Jesus as Savior as all individuals of all other nations of the world need to.
The true Israel of GOD are those that are the seed of Abraham. That seed is Christ (Gal.3:16). In Christ the middle wall of division between Jew and Gentile was broken down and removed by His death on the cross (Eph.2:14-16). In Christ both Jew and Gentile are the Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise (Gal.3:28-29). Those then that are the chosen in Christ (His church) are "a royal priesthood, a holy nation" (1 Peter 2:9), and the Israel of GOD (Gal.6:15-16). All the promises of Abraham are thus fulfilled in Christ in His church in this age and in the new heaven and earth.
